They said it couldn’t be done. Who’s they? Well, I don’t know… Google? HTC? Whichever company or OEM that likes to use “device specs” as a cop out for not keeping their devices up-to-date with the latest Android firmwares. I mean, for gawd’s sakes, we have Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich running on the Godfather of all Android devices — the HTC G1.

USB Mounting Achieved on Galaxy Nexus; High Praise for Battery Life Due


With much of the world still without the Galaxy Nexus many of us want to hear as much as we can about the phone. A couple of tidbits have sprung up from the official Galaxy Nexus Pre-Release thread at AndroidForums.com.
First up, Paul from MoDaCo, the same guy who brought us the ever-so-useful UI tweaks, has achieved USB Mounting. This will allow you to plug up many things to your Galaxy Nexus using a microUSB male to USB female cable, including wireless mice and keyboards as well as flash drives.

There's been quite a stir caused in the past few days about a mysterious volume bug which surfaced on the Galaxy Nexus. The bug began drawing attention over at XDA's forums, where several users reported ostensibly random muting, and erratic response from the Nexus' volume rocker.

If the major theme in mobile technology this year was dual-core processors, consider 2012 to be the year of reducing battery drain. We will see more power efficient processors, modems,  and smarter software, but most importantly we will have the next generation of display technology.
